The new cooker may have a slight smell the first time it is used. This is normal and is caused by the protective insulation material on the heater elements. Before using the cooker carry out the following.
- 1.
Ensure the cooker is empty.
- 2.
Turn the cooker on at the mains power.
- 3.
Turn the Main oven control knob to the MAX temperature setting.
- 4.
Let the cooker run for 45 minutes.
Ensure the cooker is installed in a well ventilated room. For more information, see the positioning the cooker topic.
- 5.
Turn the main oven control knob to 0.
- 6.
Turn the cooker off at the mains power.
- 7.
If the smell persists repeat the process once or twice more. When there is no longer a smell, open the oven door to allow the oven to cool down.
- 8.
Using hot soapy water wipe down the oven.
