  • Important: Never attempt to extend the water drain hose by adding extra parts.

  • 1.

Locate the drain hose on the rear of the dishwasher.

  • 2.

If the drain hose is being connected to a stand-pipe type of waste pipe, use the support hoop supplied with the dishwasher to ensure that the top of the drain hose is between 60 — 100cm from the floor. Any lower than this and the appliance may not drain correctly and could syphon dirty water from the drainage system into the dishwasher.

  • 3. If this is the first time there has been an appliance attached to the waste pipes, you may have to remove a blanking cap. This can either be:
    • a blanking cap installed in between the spigot and the u-bend
    • the spigot has been manufactured sealed and you will need to cut the blanking end off with a saw.
    • or a simple cap/plug over the end of the pipe
ONLY REMOVE THE ONE BLANKING CAP FOR THE LOCATION YOUR WASTE PIPE WILL ATTACH.
Ensure that if the other drain hose connections are present and aren't being used there is a blanking cap in place to prevent any leaks.

If in doubt, contact a registered plumber to install the washing machine.
  • 4.

If the drain hose is being connected to an existing waste pipe (e.g., under the sink), connect the drain hose by pushing it firmly onto the waste pipe.

  • 5.

If you do not have a waste pipe to connect the drain hose to, it can be placed over the edge of a sink or basin.

Caution: Ensure that the end of the drain hose does not become submerged under water and is well secured to the sink or basin to prevent it falling off when water is being drained.

  • 6. The waste pipe should be a very tight fit on the spigot, there are usually two diameters on the spigot. If the first part of the spigot is too loose then you will need to cut the thin part off with a saw.
  • 7. After fitting, run a short programme (e.g., P1 – Quick 30 min) to check for any leaks.
