Always follow use by dates and suggested food storage times.
- 1.
Meat and Fish – Store in a suitable container and place on the bottom shelf above the salad drawer.
Caution: Ensure that fish and raw meat do not come in contact with other food.
- 2.
Cooked food, cold dishes etc: Cover and place on any shelf.
Do not put hot food into the fridge or freezer as this will cause the internal temperature to rise, which will make the compressor work harder and will use more energy.
- 3.
Vegetables and Fruit: Store wrapped in plastic or paper with air holes in the salad drawer at the bottom of the fridge.
- 4.
Cheese and Butter: Store covered in air tight food wrapping and place on the upper shelves or door shelves.
- 5.
Milk Bottles: Store in the door shelves with a lid on.
- 6.
Place food evenly throughout the fridge so that air can circulate around it. Cover or wrap food especially if it has a strong flavour.
- 7.
Garlic, onions and potatoes should not be stored in the fridge.
