Chest Freezer BUSH BECF142L 940/3770

Being prepared in a power cut

1.

During a power cut unplug the chest freezer, then wait 5 minutes after the power returns before plugging back into the mains to avoid damage to the chest freezer components.

2.

In a power cut, the chest freezer will stop freezing. In the event of a long term power cut (anything over 2 hours), try to avoid opening the chest freezer door to keep the temperature inside as stable as possible, for as long as possible.

3.

If the power cut lasts longer than 24 hours, empty the chest freezer and temporarily store the food in a portable freezer with ice packs. Try to keep the food cold for as long as possible.

If ice crystals are visible on the food, it may be frozen again, although flavour and aroma may be effected. If food is in poor condition, throw it away.
