Cooking safety

Please read these instructions carefully. They contain important information which will help you get the best from your cooker and ensure safe and correct installation and operation.

WARNING – If you smell gas, immediately turn of the gas supply at the mains and open all windows and doors to ventilate the area. Do not operate any electrical appliances including lighting switches and wall sockets. Call your authorised gas engineer.

1.

Always position saucepans or pans over the centre of the hob burner and turn the handles to a safe position so they can’t be knocked off.

2.

For lower gas consumption use flat saucepans with a sufficiently thick base.

3.

If possible, always place a lid on the saucepan.

4.

Ensure the base of the saucepan is dry before placing onto the hob burner.

5.

Ensure the saucepan is in the centre of the hob burner.

6.

When using the grill, the oven door must remain open at all times.

7.

To conserve energy, never use a saucepan which is smaller than the selected hob burner.

8.

When removing or replacing food into the oven, always use oven gloves.

9.

Care should be taken when opening the oven door during or after cooking. The hot steam may cause burns.
