  • The freezer is used for storing frozen food, making ice cubes and freezing fresh food.

  • 1. Place the largest items, food you eat occasionally into the bottom of the chest freezer.
  • 2. Place food eaten frequently at the top of the chest freezer for easier access.
  • 3. Avoid adding to much unfrozen food into the chest freezer, as this can slow the rate of freezing and could effect the quality of the food.

    Never store fresh food next to frozen food as this can thaw the frozen food.

    Wrap and seal fresh food ensuring the packaging is air tight before placing into the chest freezer. Freezer or Polythene bags and foil is ideal.

    Never place warm food in the freezer.

  • 7.

    Never place glass bottles or cans in the freezer as the contents will burst when the contents freeze.

    When freezing food, divide it into portions that will be consumed in one sitting.

  • 9.

    Foods that are liquid should be stored in a plastic cups.

  • 10.

    Always consume thawed frozen food within a short period of time.

  • 11.

    Never refreeze thawed frozen food.
